Health systems geared up for Quality Health Services
Additional Dispensaries and Ambulances with Side ICU at Nashik and Trimbakeshwar
Nashik,
27th August : Health Department is fully
geared up for providing excellent and quality health services for
devotees during Simhastha Kumbhamela. In case of an emergent situation
temporary side ICU’s will be established at 8 locations in Nashik and 4
locations at Trimbakeshwar. Independent hospitals have been activated at
Panchavati Karanja and Tapovan at Nashik and a health dispensary at every half
kilometer.
Considering the number of devotees
arriving at Nashik and Trimbakeshwar Guardian Minister and Kumbhamela Incharge
Mr. Girish Mahajan has emphasized for qualitative health services for devotees
from the beginning. Under the leadership of Dr. B. D. Pawar, Deputy Director,
Health Services, the Department has implemented various remedial measures. The
District Civil Hospital at Nashik with a capacity of 541 beds at present is
being expanded by 200 additional beds. Trimbakeshwar Rural Hospital has also
been expanded with 70 new additional beds taking the capacity here to 100 beds.
At Panchavati Karanja in Nashik City
112 bed Indira Gandhi Hospital has been activated with ICU facilities and at
Tapovan a 100 bed Hospital has been started. Dispensaries have been started at
5 locations namely Ramkund Vastrantara Griha, Laxminarayan Temple, Sadhgram
Sector 1-D, 2-C and 2-A. Ambulances have been placed at Ramkund, Indira Gandhi
Hospital, Tapovan Hospital and Laxminarayan Temple. Emergency teams have been
deployed at 8 locations namely City Health Service Center, Nashik, Nashik Road,
Satpur, Sinnar Phata, CIDCO, Sant Gadge Baba Maharaj Kathada, RCH Center,
Gangapur and Indira Gandhi Hospital.
On all the three important Parvani days special health service will
be provided at Nashik and 32 dispensaries will be activated in the areas of
Bathing Ghats as well as Internal and external parking spaces. A total of 93
Ambulances will be deployed at places such as Shahi Procession Route, Ghat
areas, Hospitals, Parking space areas and various areas leading to Nashik. For
seriously ill patients 8 locations namely Ekmukhi Datt Mandir, Balaji Ghat,
Ayurved Hospital, Kapila Godavari Sangam Ghat, Nasardi Sangam, Kannamwar Bridge
Ghat, Nandur Ghat and Dasak Ghat will be provided with Site ICU facilities.
Medical Superintendent Dr. B. R. Gaikwad informed that apart from these
facilities 82 mobile dispensaries will also be placed in service during major
event period.
Around 150 Ambulances under Emergency
Medical Service with Helpline number 108 have been deployed. Ambulances from
many private and NGOs have also been made available for help. 35 Advanced Life Support Ambulances with
ultramodern lifesaving systems have been kept in readiness. These have
equipment facilities for heart attack patients such as ECG Monitor,
Defibrillator, Ventilator, Stretcher, Oxygen and others. Apart from them 40 Basic Life Support Ambulances with life
saving systems have also been deployed. All these Ambulances have been
connected with GPRS system and the tracking for GPRS otherwise carried out at
Pune will now be carried out at Nashik during Kumbhamela. Considering the
devotee crowds gathering for Kumbhamela
more than 400 Medical officers, Pharmacists, Nurses, X-Ray technicians have
been appointed to man the facilities. Nashik District Civil Surgeon Dr. Eknath
Male said that Health Department is continuously in touch with NGOs so that
ample blood stock is available at 14 Blood Banks in the District.
Permanent Dispensaries will be working
24x7 at 11 locations at Trimbakeshwar. A site ICU is being created at
Kushavarta area along with medical teams. Sub-District Hospital and Rural
Hospitals at Harsul and Girnare have been geared up with requisite equipment
and medicine stocks. The health services at Igatpuri, Taked, Kavnai and
Saptashrungi Gadh are also being empowered. The dispensaries and Primary Health
Centers and sub-centers en route highway to Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are being
provided with adequate manpower and resources.
With a view to ward off water borne
diseases and epidemics, the health department has implemented preventive
measures such as water purification and others. Private hospitals have also
coordinated with the District administration for providing healthcare services
and the health service systems are in readiness to successfully handle the
challenge for provision of excellent health services during major events of
Kumbhamela…

Motorcycle
Ambulances to be used…
The narrow roads and
lanes where Ambulances will not be able to reach will be covered by a facility with Motorcycle ambulances. The
motorcycles will be complete with a folding stretcher and will be manned by a
Doctor and his assistant. They will reach the place where medical aid is
required. The patient will be provided First Aid and will be moved through
folding stretcher to the nearest Ambulance.
